Seal kits for tap handles – A detailed description
Seal kits for dispensing taps are essential components for ensuring that dispensing systems are leak-proof and function properly. They consist of various seals, which may vary depending on the dispensing tap model. The following section describes various sealing kits for beer taps, explains their significance, and provides information on how to identify them.
1. Importance of sealing kits
Seals in dispensing taps have the task of preventing liquids from escaping, minimizing pressure losses, and ensuring hygienic dispensing of beverages. Over time, they can wear out due to mechanical stress, cleaning agents, or temperature fluctuations, making regular replacement necessary.
2. Components of a seal kit
A seal kit for dispensing taps can contain various components, including:
-
O-rings: Ensure a tight seal between moving parts.
-
Flat gaskets: Prevent leaks at fixed connection points.
-
Valve seals: Seal the tap valve and enable precise control of the beverage flow.
-
Spout seals: Prevent dripping and uncontrolled dripping.
The exact dimensions and materials (e.g., silicone, NBR, EPDM) may vary depending on the manufacturer and model.
3. Differences between different seal sets
Seal sets differ depending on the design and manufacturer of the dispensing tap. The SK or SL numbers on the front of the dispensing tap are particularly relevant. These numbers help to identify the correct seal set.
-
SK number: Identifies special series and models from a manufacturer.
-
SL number: Provides a more precise specification within the series.
It is important to check these numbers before purchasing a seal set to ensure a correct fit.
4. Instructions for identifying the correct seal kit
-
Check the SK or SL number on the front of the tap
- This number is usually located in a clearly visible place.
- Compare the number with the manufacturer's spare parts list.
-
Comparison with existing seals
- The shape, material, and size of the old seals can provide clues as to the correct set.
-
Observe manufacturer's instructions
- Manufacturers often offer special seal kits for their models.
- An incorrect seal can lead to leaks or functional problems.
5. Caution: Example image is for illustrative purposes only
Please note that images of seal kits in catalogs or online shops are often only general examples. The seals supplied may vary depending on the model. It is therefore essential to check the exact model number before ordering a seal kit.
6. Conclusion
A suitable seal kit is crucial for the proper functioning of a dispensing tap. The SK or SL number on the front of the dispensing tap helps to identify the correct kit. Regular maintenance and replacement of worn seals ensures the longevity and hygiene of the dispensing system.
